DTC shoppers expect more brand context than marketplace shoppers typically get. Without the trust signals a marketplace's review system and platform reputation provide, your own site's content has to do more work to build confidence before someone completes a purchase.
Content on your own storefront also isn't bound by marketplace content restrictions. Educational content about ingredients and routines, brand story and founder narrative, and campaign-specific creative can all live here in ways that build the kind of connection that drives repeat purchase and loyalty.
Static, unchanging content also underperforms over time. Homepages and landing pages that were built once and never revisited miss the compounding value of testing and refining creative based on actual customer behavior.
