Amazon's search results are an image-first environment. Shoppers scroll past dozens of near-identical listings in seconds, and the main image is almost entirely responsible for whether yours earns a click at all — before price, reviews, or title ever factor in.
Once a shopper clicks through, the image gallery becomes the primary sales tool. Amazon strictly limits promotional text overlays on certain image slots and restricts what can appear in the main image, which means photography has to communicate benefits, usage, ingredients, and scale visually — carrying weight that copy would handle on a brand's own website.
For beauty, skincare, and wellness products specifically, photography also has to build trust around things a customer can't touch or smell: texture, finish, packaging quality, and scale relative to everyday objects. Weak or inconsistent photography is one of the most common — and most fixable — reasons a well-optimized listing still underconverts.
